At its annual Service Awards celebration, held February 10 at the Bungalow Inn in Manistee, West Shore Medical Center recognized 39 employees who had reached milestone anniversaries in 2009. The associates honored have a combined 540 years of continuous service to the hospital. Service Award recipients were given a certificate recognizing their contributions and the choice of a gift catalog selection or commemorative pin.

Also recognized at the event was Barb Kubiak, who is retiring from the Materials Management Department after 29 years with West Shore.

 “What every one of us does will, in some way, shape, or form, affect the health and welfare of every single patient of West Shore,” said hospital president Burt Parks in his opening remarks. “A job done right at West Shore involves nothing less than always achieving an excellent level of quality of care and meeting or exceeding the patient’s expectations.” Parks thanked his staff for their excellent performance in doing their jobs right.

Honored for five years of service were: Kelly Arnold, Dorothy Batzer, Mary Beasley, Cheryl Bianco, Pam Fink, Karen Groenwald, Jean Gutschke, Sarah Hendges, Sally Kissling, Denise Ling, Laura Pesko, Margaret Romanik, and Jennifer Skipski.

Celebrating 10 years of service were: Gail Briseno, Jackie Bruce, Colleen Davis, Linda Eby, and Karen Gies.

Recognized for 15 years of service were: Jennifer Bentley, Lisa Daugherty, Dr. Cheryl Dionne, Sue Edmondson, Cindy Paetschow, Peter Welsh, and Mary Yarnell.

Celebrating 20 continuous years of service were: Julie Brand, Sue Champion, Nancy Cichy, Randy Edens, Barb Forbes, Jerry Groll, Debbie Lijewski, Marty Marquardt, Lori Wahr, and Robert Weaver.

Laurie Porter was honored for 25 years of service, Randy Payne and Mary Zuchowski celebrated 30 years with West Shore, and Sandy Arnold was honored for 35 years of continuous service to the hospital.
