Position: Systems Analyst with Meditech Experience
Facility: West Shore Medical Center
Description:

GENERAL SUMMARY:

Under immediate supervision of the Information Services Manager, installs, and maintains system software.  Educates and trains others to utilize the systems applications for West Shore Medical Center.

 

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Analyzes, in-services, and maintains computer applications, procedures, and other systems that satisfy the needs of the user departments.

 

Analyzes and develops necessary design work, including testing and documentation.  Reviews, evaluates and forwards requests from user departments as appropriate to software vendors.

 

Oversees computer applications to ensure proper use and security.

 

Analyzes problems, determines cause and initiates corrective action.

 

Develops clear and concise documentation, maintains instruction manuals.

 

Provides in-service and other forms of continuing education of software to users.

 

Coordinates and installs new or revised software applications with user departments.

 

Maintains technical competency through seminars, trade journals, etc.

 

Has a thorough understanding of all software modules of the HIS system as they relate to each other.

 

Performs job responsibilities in an ethical, compliant manner consistent with the organization's values and the Medical Center's Corporate Compliance Program, policies, procedures and protocols. 

 

Applies Continuous Quality Improvement concepts and methods throughout related activities.

 

Performs other related duties as requested.

 

MINIMUM KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:

Associates Degree in Computer Science, or equivalent of two years coursework in systems applications.  Additional clinical coursework preferred.

 

1-3 years of experience with computer information systems, software applications and providing support to users.  Must have Meditech experience.

Independently resolves Information Service related issues referring only complex issues to manager.

 

Must interact effectively with Physicians and their office staff, vendors, various technical support groups, Medical Center staff and the public.

 

Well organized with proven ability to coordinate multiple projects.

 

Physical and mental ability to sit and/or stand for long durations of time in office or general patient care areas.
